珥本設計｜URBANE DESIGN 是一間位於台中的室內設計公司，由創辦人暨設計總監陳建佑（Steven Chen）於 2004 年創立。

二十多年來，珥本專注於高端住宅、豪宅、毛胚屋、大坪數私人住宅、房地產開發項目與辦公空間，實踐範圍涵蓋室內建築、格局規劃、材料、家具軟裝，以及設計與施工整合。

從設計概念、空間比例，到材料選擇、細部深化與現場建造，珥本將設計視為一個完整而連續的過程。設計與施工不是彼此分離的階段，而是在同一套空間邏輯中同步推進。每一個設計決定，都必須在材料、工藝、設備與施工條件之間反覆驗證，才能從圖面精準落實於現場。

我們相信，真正具有長久價值的空間，不在於形式的堆疊，而在於比例、光線、材質、工藝與生活之間所建立的秩序。最終，空間不需要刻意彰顯設計，而應安靜地承載生活，並在時間之中保持清晰、穩定而長久。

珥，由玉與耳構成

「珥」由玉與耳兩個部件構成。在珥本的詮釋中，玉使人想到材質的本質、溫度與時間；耳則代表感知、傾聽，以及對細節保持敏銳。

對珥本而言，設計不只是觀看，更是一種理解人的生活、感知空間條件，並回應材料、尺度、光線與時間的過程。

真正的高級，不由價格定義，而來自對細節的理解、對材料的尊重，以及對個別生活需求的精準掌握。因此，珥本不以追逐特定風格為目的，而是透過比例、材質、光影與工藝，建立安靜、精準且能夠經過時間檢驗的空間。

設計，如生活的弦音。經由比例與細節的反覆推敲，讓空間在日常與時間之中，逐漸呈現屬於自己的性格。

陳建佑（Steven Chen）是珥本設計 URBANE DESIGN 創辦人暨設計總監。2004 年，他於台中創立珥本設計，長期參與高端住宅、豪宅、毛胚屋、大坪數私人住宅、房地產開發項目與辦公空間的設計，並主導從室內建築、材料與家具軟裝，到施工整合與現場實現的完整過程。

他的設計始終游移於古典與現代之間，從經典的比例、線條與工藝中，尋找回應當代生活的方式。對他而言，古典不是需要被複製的形式，而是經過時間留下來的尺度、秩序與建造智慧；現代也不只是形式上的簡化，而是對新的生活方式、材料、技術與空間需求所作出的回應。

設計通常從理解問題開始。人的行為、生活方式、空間尺度、機能需求與工程條件，都是設計最初的起點。當問題逐漸被釐清，比例、材料、光線與工藝才進一步介入，讓理性的判斷轉化為空間的美感與秩序。

二十多年來，珥本的設計表達隨著不同項目、生活方式、材料與技術持續演變。始終沒有改變的，是同一套理解問題、回應問題，並透過建造完成設計的邏輯。

URBANE DESIGN

URBANE DESIGN is a Taichung-based interior architecture and design studio founded in 2004 by Steven Chen, its Founder & Design Director.

For more than two decades, the studio has focused on high-end residences, luxury homes, raw-house projects, large-scale private residences, real estate developments, and workspaces. Its practice extends across interior architecture, spatial planning, materials, FF&E, and integrated design and construction.

From initial concept and spatial proportion to material selection, detailed development, and on-site execution, URBANE approaches design as a complete and continuous process. Design and construction are not treated as separate stages, but developed within the same spatial logic. Each decision is tested against materials, craftsmanship, building systems, and site conditions so that the original design intent can be carried precisely from drawing to construction.

We believe that the lasting value of a space does not come from an accumulation of forms, but from the order established among proportion, light, material, craftsmanship, and everyday life. Ultimately, a space should not need to announce that it has been designed. It should quietly support life and remain clear, composed, and enduring over time.

THE MEANING OF 珥

The Chinese character 珥 is composed of elements associated with jade and the ear. In URBANE’s interpretation, jade evokes the essential nature of material, its warmth, and the passage of time. The ear represents perception, attentive listening, and sensitivity to detail.

For URBANE, design is not only visual. It is a process of understanding how people live, recognizing the conditions of a space, and responding to material, scale, light, and time.

True luxury is not defined by price. It lies in an understanding of detail, respect for material, and a precise response to the needs of an individual way of living. URBANE therefore does not pursue a predetermined style. Through proportion, material, light, and craftsmanship, the studio seeks to create spaces that are quiet, precise, and able to withstand the test of time.

Design is like a resonant note within everyday life. Through the continual refinement of proportion and detail, a space gradually reveals its own character through use and over time.

Founder & Design Director, URBANE DESIGN

Steven Chen is the Founder & Design Director of URBANE DESIGN. He established the studio in Taichung in 2004 and has since led the design of high-end residences, luxury homes, raw-house projects, large-scale private residences, real estate developments, and workspaces. His involvement extends from interior architecture, materials, and FF&E to integrated construction and on-site realization.

His work moves continuously between the classical and the contemporary, drawing from enduring principles of proportion, line, and craftsmanship to respond to modern life. For Chen, the classical is not a form to be reproduced, but a source of scale, order, and building knowledge refined over time. The contemporary is not simply a reduction of form, but a response to evolving ways of living, materials, technologies, and spatial needs.

Design begins with understanding the problem. Human behavior, patterns of living, spatial scale, functional requirements, and construction conditions form the starting point of each project. As these questions become clearer, proportion, material, light, and craftsmanship begin to shape rational decisions into spatial beauty and order.

For more than two decades, URBANE’s design expression has continued to evolve through different projects, ways of living, materials, and technologies. What remains constant is the same underlying logic: to understand the problem, respond with clarity, and bring the design to completion through construction.
